It Takes a Village

Dear Barnhardt Academy Families,

At Barnhardt Academy, we know it truly takes a village to help our students succeed. We are incredibly thankful for the families, businesses, churches, organizations, and community partners who continue to support and invest in our Cavaliers.

Their support allows us to celebrate students through our Monthly PBIS Celebrations, Student of the Month, Weekly Classroom Shout-Outs, and other positive initiatives. These opportunities reinforce our three main pillars (grades, attendance, and behavior) while also helping create a positive school climate where students feel valued and motivated to succeed.

Please join me in recognizing some of our incredible sponsors and community partners highlighted throughout this newsletter. Their support makes a real difference for our students and our school.

We are grateful for everyone who is part of our BAC village. Together, we are making a difference for our Cavaliers!

Reminder: Student Half-Day this Friday!

Just a reminder that Friday, September 18, is a half day for students. Barnhardt Academy will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. Please plan accordingly, and thank you for your continued support!

Untethered Church consistently goes above and beyond to provide for our students and support the work we do at BAC. A huge thank you to Communities In Schools for supporting our BAC staff and sponsoring our Staff Member of the Month for Perfect Attendance! Each month, a staff member with perfect attendance is recognized and receives a $25 gift card courtesy of CIS. We appreciate their continued partnership and investment in our Cavaliers!
 

2026-2027 Barnhardt Academy LSGT Member Nomination

We are seeking nominations for parent members to serve as the parental representative on our Local School Governance Team (LSGT). One member of our LSGT must be voted on by the school community, and this is your chance to nominate someone whom you believe will represent our school well. If you are nominating yourself, please include why you would like to serve.  

The members of the LSGT are accountable to the community, to the students, to the school, and to the school system.  
The members shall: 
• Maintain a school-wide perspective on issues;
• Regularly participate in LSGT meetings;
• Participate in information and training programs provided by the school system;
• Act as a link between the school governing team and the community;
• Encourage the participation of parents and others within the school community; and
• Work to support continuous improvement in student achievement and performance.

Title I Information

Barnhardt Academy (BAC) is proud to be a Title I school. Title I is a federally funded program designed to provide additional resources and support to help ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed academically. Through Title I, BAC is able to strengthen instructional programs, provide additional learning resources, support family engagement, and create opportunities that meet the individual needs of our students. We value the partnership between our students, families, staff, and community as we work together to help every Cavalier succeed.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal is a secure, online platform that CCPS utilizes to allow parents and guardians 24/7 access to monitor their child’s education. Accessible through a desktop or mobile app, Parent Portal allows for families to:
  • View student grades
  • Review attendance and absences
  • See assignments due and upcoming exams
  • Receive notification of School/District announcements
  • View your student’s schedule
  • Pay school fees

School Safety Is A Priority

Parents, please help your students understand the importance of being aware of their surroundings. Please encourage your child to say something if they see or hear something that sounds un-safe or potentially dangerous. A courageous student willing to report something suspicious can make all the difference. This is something they should practice inside and outside of school to ensure their safety.
